"Our mission is to always try our best. We will work together to achieve our goals. We will always respect each other and ourselves. We will make a difference in our world."
Please take a minute to explore this site. There is a page for classroom news which will hold important dates and pictures. Check out some pictures from last year to see what's in store. There is also a page which shows our typical daily schedule in the classroom. My contact information can also be found here.
This year we will be using Class Dojo as our main form of communication. This is a great app you can get on your phone or computer to check in throughout the day to see photos and recieve updates. It's like an interactive newsletter. You will get an evite to join our class on Dojo within the first few weeks of school.
Through the month of January we will begin our third curriculum unit on wind and water. We will be introducing our sensory table! This is a great tool for hands on learning. Our table can be filled with things like water, sand, snow, soil, water beads, shells, macaroni, etc. We will have high expectations that students are able to resolve many problems with minimal teacher intervention. By practicing different solutions, we can come up with a plan to solve almost any problem in the classroom. This is such an important skill in a group setting. Students will have to work well with others their entire lives and the foundation for that skill is built now.
We have become very familiar with self help skills such as opening our own snacks with the "pinch, pinch, pull" and "tear" methods, as well as getting our own paper towels if we need to clean up a spill. We have been practicing the "flip trick" to put our own coats on and we even have a few friends that are great at zipping that have been helping everyone!

Please remember to send in a snack and lunch each day. This includes 2 drinks or a refillable bottle. If you ordered hot lunch for your child they will receive it from school.
Scholastic Book magazines will be sent home occasionally. This is NOT a requirement. It is completely optional. Families who chose to order are encouraged to order online. Make sure to click this link so our class gets points!
Please remember our school day begins at 7:30am. Children arriving later will miss out on precious learning time and morning activities.
Make sure to fill out the lunch order forms and return with payment by the due date.
*Dismissal for Pre-K children begins at 2:20pm and ends promptly at 2:30pm. This allows the parents time to speak with us before the older children are dismissed. We dismiss out of the side door near Richmond St. There is no parent parking in the lot beside this door for safety reasons. CVS allows parents to park there if there is no street parking. Children who have not been picked up by 2:30 pm will be brought to our after school program. This allows time for staff who work in after school to get back to the classroom.
